I’ve been with Gables since 2002 and if I could, I would have joined Gables from the day they started. I love this company for its diversity, people, and overall values of the company. Having friends from so many other property management companies, I’ve learned that Gables is the perfect fit for me. I’ve always been helped or directed to the correct person, showing me that Gables is about making my career path as easy as possible. Since I started, I’ve had the opportunity to win several awards within the company such as Property of the Year, Taking Care Award, and Manager of the Year. I’ve also consecutively won awards within the San Diego Apartment Association for Rental Property of the Year and Manager of the Year. I know without Gables support and training, I would not have achieved as much as I already have in my 9 years.

I’m currently the manager for the largest Gables property in California. My property is on two blocks and a total of 752 apartment homes. I have a wonderful team of 13. My team is what makes my job fun for me every single day I’m here. The most challenging part of my job is being able to balance out everyone’s personalities, keeping the work place fun and enjoyable for everyone and exceeding budget while reducing expenses without affecting my residents. Being able to please all my residents and stay within the Fair Housing guidelines is also challenging for me and my team. I think the most exciting thing about my job is that I never know who and what will come through my office door or who is on the other end of the phone call. It can be good, it can be bad; but it’s always interesting. I’m extremely proud to represent Gables in our local newspaper each year when I receive “Rental Property of the Year” and “Rental Manager of the Year,” which has been achieved consecutively since I took over Gables Summerset in 2005, beating out the best of the best in San Diego. I’ve been able to achieve my California Certified Residential Manager in 2008, and am working to complete my Certified Apartment Manager in 2011with the help of Gables.
