I was first introduced to Gables in 1996 as a consultant and after completing my six month assignment, the associates at the Atlanta office gave me a going away party in appreciation of the work completed. That gesture meant a great deal to me and many times during my assignment with Gables I thought “This would be a great company to work for”.
In 2000 I was presented the opportunity to join the company full time and eleven years later I must admit that saying yes was the best decision of my professional career. The same company atmosphere that impressed me as a consultant in 1996 continues today, a positive work environment that is supportive, respectful and appreciative of its associates.
Since joining the company in 2000, we have implemented enterprise systems in accounting, job cost, budgeting, business intelligence, document imaging and property management. The IT team oversees the company’s technology infrastructure, including enterprise information systems, internal system development, telephony, and wide area network connectivity at seven corporate offices and 145 apartment communities throughout the US.
Needless to say we are always on the go, staying on the leading edge and striving to provide the best support and latest technology for Gables. It is wonderful to work for a company that embraces the latest technology initiatives and I am proud to be a part of the team that makes IT happen.
